things to miss #5

easy access to lover. apparently no-one stocks it in the uk besides net-a-porter and it's horrendously expensive.

i had the opportunity to buy this dress for $100 in melbourne earlier this year. talked myself out of it because i was late for a job. yep. kicking myself now. never say no to lover.

last meals with josh #2

(the last meal with josh #1 was at harvest... though i will probably go back before i leave.)
post-swim lunch at cantina.
this was poached egg on potato hash with rocket and chorizo salad. doesn't sound so fancy-amazing but had i taken a photo before it was devoured you would understand. oh and it had a hazelnut dressing.

orange polenta cake. yes.

so josh and i have decided to make a bit of thing of this - last meals at my favourite restaurants around town. viet hoa is going to a big one. real big.

my coat

obviously still procrastinating... this is the coat that (hopefully) awaits me in london. fed-ex reckons that they're delivering it to ellie's today so it's just another friendly face to greet me upon my arrival. side note - if one were so inclined, definitely check out the fabulous cuteness that is a.p.c.

procrastination

i have my one and only exam (but last assessment) tomorrow and as such decided to have a relaxing post-lunch read. as of 11 o'clock tomorrow morning i feel like i can really start getting everything together and spend a lot more time doing this without the guilt.

things to miss #4

my books! so sad.

dad's books.

and dad's uncontrollable urge to buy these huge editions. they're too big for shelves so they lie about in odd places around the house.

too heavy to ship...

... and not technically mine.

australiana

i accidentally had a bit of a patriotic kind of day today.

i was in the city at 11am. it's hard to see but traffic was stopped and a sailor played the last post in the middle of the intersection. it was mesmerising to see everyone just stop. i much prefer remembrance day to anzac day. nice and subtle.

things to miss #3

sunday breakfast down at harvest. things i won't miss: their new ridiculously low tables out the front and notoriously bad service when busy. the food is always worth the wait just don't go if dying of starvation.

saturday

after the bad food choices made yesterday and the ensuing discomfort, i was feeling particularly sorry for myself and as such decided to have a wonderful saturday.

saturday jazz on RTR.

the weather is just right for reading the paper out in the garden.

and there i was.

had to move into the sun to read the real bit of the newspaper. shamu had to come and add her two cents of course.

got to wear my ugly-beautiful shoes and their soulmates - weird toeless socks. a match made in heaven!

st. georges tce is so eerily quiet on a saturday. i like it.

young joshua at work.

le tigre,tigre.

going to miss this coffee - and chocolate given ever-so-generously by the lovely jackson.

david.

friends.

dave wanted to have his new jacket tailored but, alas, the tailor has saturdays off too. so instead we looked in the window of this rare bookshop. i totally want the 'ballet in action' book. good thing all books are half price.

more friends. heading back to tiger.

joshie joined us on his lunch break.

after the city i braved a trip to claremont because i talked myself into getting some salmon.

it was totally worth the effort.

it's hard to tell in this photo but my yoghurt matched this ad perfectly. seriously.

finished the day with an outfit change and a cup of tea. trying to wear all my shoes, no matter how inappropriate, before i go. i feel bad about leaving them behind.

things to miss #2

hanging out in the garden with the sham. her particular brand of crazy never ceases to amaze (and amuse, what a nut).

ick

finally went down to have blood extracted (siphoned) for an allergy test (ick enough in itself) and picked up a coffee and some nougat to make myself feel better. by the time i got home i was feeling particularly disgusting - putting it down to copious amounts of soy (well more than i'm used to anyway) and walking home in the sunshine whilst being a little overdressed. no, the irony of food induced ickyness is not lost on me.
