leaving albion

it may not look like it but this is the beginning of packing my life away.

that's one full box, one empty.

ritual

aggy, tea, window.

 watching the rain.
 solving the world's problems.

recently

poor arvi, work's been rough lately.
our new, limited edition art series 8oz cups.

tube strike on monday meant i was either going to be super early or super late.

i was ridiculously early and waited for celeste for close to an hour.

in the piss alley between greek street and charing cross (they painted over this that very day).

reminds me of mallory.

ellie in sillouhette! at caravan where i finally treated her like it was her birthday.

the cat from norway got stuck in the doorway, but my cat likes to hide in boxes. (i'm packing).

oh joanna

the third of my big, heartbreaking three (beirut, bill callahan and now joanna newsom). i am completely fulfilled.

oops

the following is what happens when your bus is on diversion and you miss your stop.

a man on the bus in front had set up this owl and a small stack of something  (like soft biscuit jenga blocks) and proceeded to attempt to take a photo. it took him a few tries and he was highly engrossing.

lens flare!

daffodils!

intermission

some fun days around and about in london.

our sometimes cat, yo.

saturday evening on broadway.

jamie at the free sunday barbeque at the stag's head. such a sweet deal, trying to keep it quiet though.

hannah and i went wandering through the City the other day. it dawned on us just how little of the city we've seen. this is smithfield meat market.

st paul's.

guildhall.

88 london wall, by richard rogers. didn't even need to look it up it's so similar in styling to le pompie.

london wall is the weirdest place!

idyllic barbican.

god, i would do anything to live here.

this little hut is set up in the courtyard as part of the 'radical nature' exhibition on at the moment.

you can have a little cup of berry tea. also, hannah cut all her hair off while i was away!

so long soph #1

when soph found me outside climpson's this morning, i was planning to walk to the tate and see where the day took me. instead, soph and i wandered through london spending her money. she's done very well for herself.

after a restorative lunch at rose bakery, we wandered through soho to milk bar for coffee and our take-away carrot cake. this is the kind of day you dream of having and i'm quite excited for the day when i can be completely frivolous with my money too.

hampstead

ok, this was actually a while ago now. last saturday to be exact. not this one just been but the one before that (i know, i know).

after meeting on broadway market and receiving advice from many, many (probably too many) people, nicola, hannah and i headed off to hampstead heath. we got really lost. and none of us had a map either so we had to keep phoning hannah's friend anita (who we were also trying to meet up with.)

eventually, after running into a customer (it happens all the time), we bumped into the heath. it's actually quite large so it's quite incredible that it was able to elude us for so long.

up on parliament hill. the best view in london apparently.

one day

this was a while ago now, tuesday maybe?

was on my way to the design museum and unsure if i was on the right track. found a ship though.

hello, town hall!

and the hussein chalayan display out the front of the museum.

sunday...

... show day for richard nicoll.

miss geddes at the studio.

the waiting begins... the richard nicoll crew waiting to get into the venue.

more waiting after being shuffled out from backstage while christopher kane set up.

laura, embracing cultural diversity, eating greek salad with chopsticks.

the scrum before christopher kane.

stam. as captivating as every model should be. admittedly not the best photo of her but i didn't want to be really obviously model-stalking her.

kanye-freakin-west. the star at kane's show being mobbed by photographers backstage. he's really short.

all ready.

the man himself.

my look but not my model. this is ali stephens, she was quite sweet.

it was a mad rush of miscommunication and excitement and then it was all over and packed away.

this is linder sterling who designed the beautiful prints. she was the only calm one backstage so she and i decided that it could be her job to emit waves of good energy and serenity. i think she did pretty well. think i might grow up to be her. she's pretty cool.

then i headed back east to meet up for lunch with soph and ev (her housemate) at albion. it's a great sunday kind of place. also the love of my life turned up and i now have confirmation of his commanding presence and soph's approval.
afterwards we mosied through the streets to the royal oak to see brooke and antony. and then i came home. work again tomorrow, but this sunday makes it all worthwhile.

soundtrack for this evening : elephant gun (song) by beirut & in ear park (album) by department of eagles.
