leaving albion

it may not look like it but this is the beginning of packing my life away.

that's one full box, one empty.

ritual

aggy, tea, window.

 watching the rain.
 solving the world's problems.

recently

poor arvi, work's been rough lately.
our new, limited edition art series 8oz cups.

tube strike on monday meant i was either going to be super early or super late.

i was ridiculously early and waited for celeste for close to an hour.

in the piss alley between greek street and charing cross (they painted over this that very day).

reminds me of mallory.

ellie in sillouhette! at caravan where i finally treated her like it was her birthday.

the cat from norway got stuck in the doorway, but my cat likes to hide in boxes. (i'm packing).

last day

after a quick pack and a quick coffee i met rhea for brunch and then it was on to the market to shop for a feast. (rhea matched the rainbow chard beautifully).

the produce we came home with quickly turned into a still life.

a snack, a cider and a nap and we started cooking.

jackie and rhea.

megan, ky and sean.

that blonde, be-hatted blur is ranya and her friend lord gavin.

megan, so fantastic.

and this, this is miller's. i spent a good amount of time here (almost every night i think).

we (ky, megan, rhea and i) stayed til the bitter end. then it was home to organize the remainder of my stuff, into a cab and onto jfk (where i promptly sobered up). and that's it.

farewell

dave's last night.

birds

hanging with ky at the barbican; seeing the birds (i'll explain later), taking some pictures, eating bananas.

trying to cram in as much quality time before he goes back to new york.

leaving an impression

my room.

where the sculpture had to be dug out.

and scattering honeypot's ashes...

all around the garden.

an homage

goodbye, my love.

ellie and my wardrobes were built into the original house and left in when we renovated. as such, they had to be destroyed (by their creator, no less) in order to get them out of the house.

at least i don't have to worry about crocodiles in the tub anymore.

moving day

we have so much stuff.

poor maman, eating lunch in what was left of the kitchen.

last day

we spent mum and dad's last day in london wandering through the east stopping at favourite haunts to refresh. i met them down on columbia road and we walked up to climpson's for breakfast and coffee. then we sauntered down the canal to the pavilion for more coffee and marveled at the geese in the algae. from there, we retraced our steps back to rochelle's canteen which was busy (the busiest - it was gloriously sunny) but, as always, worth the wait.

mum departed after lunch so dad and i trekked around the City (starting here at rivington place) visiting the greats and discovering the underdogs.

hello gherkin.

hello lloyd!

this building is just so incredibly detailed. imagine all those joints, all those connections that needed to be considered. it really is a fortress though. distant respect is now fully fledged puppy-love.

dad took this one. i can't claim credit.

and this is the view from mum and dad's suite (!!! - they were upgraded) at the boundary. i want to live here.

lovely london light. hopefully you know that i'm way too lazy to have altered this photo. if anything, downsizing has diminished its vibrance.

up on the roof.

ellie vs. me.

ellie vs. dad (dad won, i think).

dad and my beautiful, hilarious, darling cousin, stephanie.
