new friends

i went and bought some ridiculous rings at the fremantle markets today. the viking's name is johan, the native is called bruce. bruce the native. naming them was easy, trying to justify them aesthetically whilst reading a book about gestalt is a whole other thing.

leaving perth

hanging in the garden with sham. given the proximity of that stick, i'd probably just been trying to make her eat it. we have a special relationship like that.

best building.

how could i have driven by? i love you, wool stores.

triple rosie

this is triple rosie - matt, lizzie and kerry - at their gig on sunday night. they're off on tour this week and have left a considerable gap in staff at climpsons.

lizzie and matt and the back of gustav, the new kid. he's swedish but has been living in perth for three years. he used to work at x-wray down in freo and knows a lot of the perth kids that i know here too. another one of those things.

also, i dropped my camera just after taking this photo and it nearly ended up in that puddle. it didn't, thank god, but it's a bit dinged and still unhappy i think. trying to juggle my camera, lens cap, case and huge bag all at once was going to result in disaster one day.

the last two polaroids (mum and dad, me and sham)

new ugg boots

my darling mother bought me these to keep my toes warm in the new city (and new climate). these ones are hand made in fremantle and considerably cheaper than the ones with the registered 'ugg' name. they're so legit. thanks mum!

cruising

driving down to freo in the merc.

tasty treat of queso manchego with quince paste on toast (for josh, not me. mum likes him best.)

this is the first photo i've ever taken of the dingo.

beautiful perth light.

'you store it you lock it you keep the key'

josh looking very david lynch-y next to the beast.

things to miss #3

sunday breakfast down at harvest. things i won't miss: their new ridiculously low tables out the front and notoriously bad service when busy. the food is always worth the wait just don't go if dying of starvation.

doulos

went down to fremantle with josh to see this floating missionary. it's a beautiful and very photogenic ship, and the harbour looked particularly pretty. even the sheep ship wasn't too stinky.
